Innovative Practices

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering is committed to fostering innovative practices that enhance the learning experience and prepare students for the ever-evolving field of electronics and communication.The department emphasizes project-based learning, where students work on real-world projects that require them to apply their theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios. This approach encourages problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration among students. Our students have been participating in various competitions to explore new technologies, conduct experiments, and contribute to the advancement of the field.

e-Yantra Ideas Challenge (e-YIC) A special innovation challenge where contestants receive mentoring in innovation and entrepreneurship. Platforms offered by e-Yantra help to build prototype solutions to actual problems with greater efficiency.

Five teams from the department of ECE were selected in second round of e-YIC 2020

Out of which two were selected in regional finals as well.

Team 1-  Project - UNDERWATER ROV

Project selected for final of e-YRC 2020

Project title- Rapid Rescue bot

Rapid rescue bot is used for finding the shortest path in an area. It will help in emergency cases to pop out from congested place. The main aspect of this bot was fire engine and ambulance.

e-YIC Regionals Finals 2019

MGMCoET is Nodal Centre of e-Yantra (IIT Bombay)

Hosted the regional finals for north zone, 6 teams participated in the regional finals on 18/02/2019

Prof. Kavi Arya from IIT Bombay along with e-Yantra team came for evaluation

Entrepreneurs from the industry were also invited for evaluation and giving feedback to the teams.

Two team of the college were also selected to present their projects

  • All the participating teams were awarded prizes for their efforts.
  • Out of these six teams two were from ECE department of MGM.

AKTU-Dr. Kalam Innovation Gallery (Divyang)

  • Two teams of our college were selected for the prototype demonstration at the university campus
  • They were funded with Rs. 12,000 for the development
  • Team 1:-From third year EC branch, Epileptic Seizure Detection & Alerting System.

Kalam Annual Project and Poster Presentation – 2019 (KAPPTeC)

  • Organized by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University at AKTU Campus
  • The objective was to enhance innovative thinking and presentation skill among the students of University
  • Two teams of final year Electronics & Communication branch were selected
  • In two different clusters for presenting their projects.

Team 1:-Ultra Secure Smart home under cluster 1 where 94 projects were selected

Team 2:- Implementation of Smart Hat for Coal Mine & Create WSN Network using NRF24LO Module under cluster 2 where  155 projects were selected 

  • The two teams of our college were selected from the 592 institutions affiliated to AKTU.
